Composition of Network and Members
Background: With its decision of 12 December 2013, the Conference of Presidents (CoP) transposed the Council’s decision to implement the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) in the EP and entrusted the EMPL committee « to mainstream the UN CRPD within the Parliament, with close association of LIBE » and with other committees concerned. The CoP also tasked the EMPL committee « to put forward a proposal on the most appropriate and encompassing mechanism to ensure optimal application » of the UN CRPD. The CoP endorsed this proposal on 8 January 2015.
Subsequently, in September 2015, the EP CRPD Network s set up as an inter-committee working group of the EMPL Committee. It is composed of one full member and one substitute coming today from 16 committees , i.e. EMPL, ENVI, JURI, CULT, FEMM, PETI, BUDG, IMCO, TRAN, REGI, DROI, DEVE, LIBE, SANT, HOUS, ITRE.
The last meeting took place in January 2025 and the next one is scheduled for 15 October, 13:15 – 14:45.
